An important new output format is the XML Paper Specification (XPS). Like Adobe's PDF format, XPS is a fixed-layout document format designed to preserve document fidelity, so that documents look the same and as they are intended on any device. Various XPS file types can be generated with IRISPdf™ 7.2 Server: image-text, text, and text-image. Options include the creation of bookmarks, inclusion of graphics, and retention of color of text. XPS-iHQC™ is I.R.I.S.’ hyper-compression proprietary technology, with the most impressive color compression applied to the XPS format. New PDF features include PDF iHQC™ enhancement of text legibility for low resolution color or greyscale images. IRISPdf™ 7.2 Server can also be used to create PDF/A 1-b compliant with iHQC™ technology. This means very important size reduction for long-term archiving purposes. )

With this connector, IRISPdf™ 7.2 can export the results of a conversion to an existing Microsoft SharePoint document library. )

In order to free the scanning station of the OCR process, you can use the IRISPdf™ Server Batch Output Format, strongly integrating the most advanced scanning application with the “state of the art heavy duty” solution to create massive searchable documents. )

An improvement of OCR accuracy for low resolution color or greyscale images has been made. The new OCR engine enhancement includes an Arabic OCR engine, with a new recognition method based on the font description.

Just configure your scanner to drop your files in the appropriate watched folder and IRISPdf™ Server will initiate the recognition of the new documents with the pre-configured settings of this watched folder and export the output file directly in the pre-established format(s) and to the right place: folder or Microsoft SharePoint document library.

IRISPdf™ 7.2 Server takes advantage of multi-core CPUs and multiple CPU computers. It spreads the workload across the cores/CPUs to optimize the use of your computer or server resources. With this add-on, multiple tasks and conversion of important volumes of documents can be achieved much quicker. IRISPdf™ Server 7.2 can process more than 20.000 documents a day but with the new multi-CPU add-on, you can process up to 35.000 documents a day on a dual core CPU and up to 60.000 documents on a quad-core CPU!
