I.R.I.S. Intelligent High-Quality Compression technology™ is designed to convert a standard color image (uncompressed, jpeg or jpeg 2000) into a new color image of a much smaller size. The color image will be encapsulated in a PDF file (PDF – iHQC), so that it will be readable by anybody, anywhere in the world, from any platform.
An intelligent imaging algorithm will determine the different components of the image (background, foreground, Text, lines, etc…). Instead of applying a unique compression strategy to all the components of the image, different compression strategies will be combined to maintain a perfect legibility and select the most adapted compression strategy.
The following table illustrates the compression capability of iHQC™ on a variety of color images of different kinds. Two settings are proposed to optimize the picture quality (Best Quality) or the file size (Best Size):

This table is showing that iHQC allows to generate fully-searchable PDF files (containing both the color image and the full-text index) that are more than 200 times smaller than the original color image and smaller than the black & white Tiff Group 4 image (which doesn’t contain the full-text index).

New IRISPdf 6.0 Server

IRISPdf 6.0 server is a document compression and OCR server. It can generate documents in PDF and in a variety of other formats. It can generate fully-searchable documents containing both the image and the text and a variety of other output formats.
The new version of IRISPdf 6.0 contains the most advanced version of iHQC™. It contains easy to control parameters allowing to select the best compromise between Quality and Size depending on the application.
IRISPdf Server 6.0 will be commercially available on April, 15, 2007 through the international partner network of I.R.I.S. Versions for the Asian market (Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and Middle-East market (Arabic, Farsi,..) will be available.
Special versions for Kodak Capture Software, Kofax Ascent Capture and eCopy Sharescan OP will also be available.

New IRISCapture™ for Sage 100

IRISCapture™ for Sage 100 is based on IRISCapture™ Pro for Invoices 8.0, the very latest version of the I.R.I.S. invoice processing software.
IRISCapture™ for Sage 100 contains a powerful connector developed jointly by Sage and I.R.I.S. that allows IRISCapture and Sage 100 to operate as one single integrated product performing:
• Scanning and indexing of invoices
• Archiving of the invoices
• Extraction and automatic encoding of all key data from the invoice
• All management functions including an invoice processing Workflow, with an easy access to the image of the invoice.
The two products have been fully integrated to create a complete, easy-to-install system that requires little or no configuration. Data from IRISCapture™ for Invoices are automatically synchronised with the Sage 100 database. The scanning of new invoices is controlled via Sage 100, recognition and processing are fully automated and the results are available immediately in Sage 100.
