IRISDocument™ 9 Server is the most robust solution to structure, index, highly compress and convert documents into optimized searchable text files. It is designed to process large volumes of documents either on a single workstation or on a server, using images coming from multiple workstations. The system has been built as a server application and works 24/7, maximizing its users’ productivity.

What is new with version 9?

• Extended Range of Output Formats list: XPS, XPS‐iHQC™, PDF/a and PDF/a‐iHQC™
  An important new output format is the XML Paper Specification (XPS). Like Adobe's PDF format, XPS is a fixed‐layout document format designed to preserve document fidelity, so that documents look the same on any device. Various XPS file types can be generated with IRISDocument™ Server 9: image‐text, text, text‐image, and image files. Options include the creation of bookmarks, inclusion of graphics, and retention of color of text. XPS can be hyper‐compressed with I.R.I.S.’ proprietary technology iHQC™, with the most impressive color compression ratios (up to 400 times and more!) applied to the XPS format.
  IRISDocument™ 9 Server can also be used to create PDF/A compliant hyper‐compressed with the iHQC™ technology. This means very important size reduction for long‐term archiving purposes.
• Extended integration with IRISPowerscan™ 9, I.R.I.S.’ brand‐new production scanning application
  In order to free the scanning station of the OCR process, you can use the IRISDocument™ Server Batch Output Format, strongly integrating the most advanced scanning application with the “state of the art heavy duty” solution to create massive searchable documents. Together, those two new features create a complete and powerful scanning and archiving platform, from front‐door content to document management solutions.
• Extended integration into Microsoft SharePoint (add‐on)
  IRISDocument™ 9 Server connects directly to any Microsoft SharePoint server. Files are exported with their indexes defined in IRISPowerscan™ 9, into libraries automatically created based on the original paper document type. (add‐on)
• Export API on Watched Folder version
  IRISDocument™ Watched Folder mode has been designed to process large volumes of documents automatically, 24/7. You can create several watched folders with different settings. Just configure your scanner to drop your files in the appropriate watched folder and IRISDocument™ Server will initiate the recognition of the new documents with the pre‐ configured settings of this watched folder and export the output file directly in the pre‐ established format(s) and to the right place: folder or Microsoft SharePoint document library.
• Improved Arabic Engine (add‐on)
  The OCR accuracy for Arabic has been strongly improved, with a new recognition method based on the font description.
• Improved Recognition of Low Resolution Images
  The OCR accuracy for low resolution color or greyscale images has been dramatically improved. This is also valid for PDF with iHQC™ compression.
